The Hindu · india
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has implemented significant road safety improvements at the Byatarayanapura and Kodigehalli junctions on NH-44 in Bengaluru. These locations were identified as accident blackspots, with Byatarayanapura recording 11 fatalities and Kodigehalli reporting six between 2019 and 2023, many involving pedestrians. Enhancements include safe pedestrian crossings, refuge areas, new footpaths, speed-calming measures, and improved signage. These efforts aim to reduce accidents and enhance pedestrian safety along these busy national highway stretches.
