A hurried civic makeover in Madurai for Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's visit has quickly reversed, with a renovated public toilet near Government Rajaji Hospital remaining locked. Encroachments cleared before the visit have reappeared, and garbage is accumulating again in areas that were cleaned. The locked toilet is causing significant hardship for patients and visitors at the busy hospital. A corporation official stated the facility, previously unmaintained, is undergoing renovation and will be tendered for operation once completed.

मुख्यमंत्री सी. जोसेफ विजय के दौरे के लिए मदुरै में जल्दबाजी में किया गया नागरिक सुविधाओं का नवीनीकरण, दौरे के तुरंत बाद उलट गया है। गवर्नमेंट राजाजी अस्पताल के पास एक नव-निर्मित सार्वजनिक शौचालय अभी भी बंद है। दौरे से पहले हटाए गए अतिक्रमण फिर से दिखाई देने लगे हैं, और जिन इलाकों की सफाई की गई थी, वहां फिर से कूड़ा जमा हो रहा है। बंद शौचालय व्यस्त अस्पताल के मरीजों और आगंतुकों के लिए बड़ी परेशानी का सबब बन रहा है। एक निगम अधिकारी ने बताया कि पहले रखरखाव के अभाव में यह सुविधा जीर्णोद्धार के दौर से गुजर रही है और पूरा होने के बाद इसके संचालन के लिए निविदा जारी की जाएगी।
