Sebi Eases Call-Recording Mandate For Research Analysts Dealing With Funds

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has eased the mandatory requirement for research analysts to maintain call recordings of their interactions with institutional investors. This move aims to reduce compliance burden and improve the ease of doing business. While call recordings with institutional investors are no longer mandatory, research analysts must still maintain records of interactions with all clients, including prospective ones, through legally verifiable methods like emails or signed physical records. These records must be preserved for five years or until dispute resolution.

भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड (सेबी) ने संस्थागत निवेशकों के साथ अपनी बातचीत की कॉल रिकॉर्डिंग बनाए रखने की रिसर्च एनालिस्ट्स की अनिवार्य आवश्यकता को आसान बना दिया है। इस कदम का उद्देश्य अनुपालन का बोझ कम करना और व्यापार करने में आसानी में सुधार करना है। जबकि संस्थागत निवेशकों के साथ कॉल रिकॉर्डिंग अब अनिवार्य नहीं है, रिसर्च एनालिस्ट्स को अभी भी सभी ग्राहकों, जिनमें संभावित ग्राहक भी शामिल हैं, के साथ ईमेल या हस्ताक्षरित भौतिक रिकॉर्ड जैसी कानूनी रूप से सत्यापन योग्य विधियों के माध्यम से बातचीत के रिकॉर्ड बनाए रखने होंगे। इन रिकॉर्डों को पांच साल तक या विवाद समाधान तक संरक्षित किया जाना चाहिए।
