The United States is deploying a third aircraft carrier strike group, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, and an additional 9,000 to 10,000 troops to the Middle East near Iran. This significant military buildup, including Marines and F-35 jets, comes as the war enters its eighth month. The concentration of forces aims to keep military options available for President Trump, regardless of diplomatic progress. This move adds to the approximately 50,000 US service members already stationed in the region, raising concerns about potential escalation.
