Seven schoolchildren from Sajipa in Bantwal taluk have donated Rs 5,000 from their Dasara earnings to Shashikanth, a local man bedridden for five years. The children, who perform the traditional Shardula Vesha dance during Navratri, decided to help Shashikanth after seeing him near a window while travelling to school. They collected approximately Rs 5,200 over two days of performances, using homemade costumes, and handed over the majority to Shashikanth. Their parents were unaware of the donation until the children returned home.
