Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is reportedly close to securing a $905.7 million deal to convert six Boeing 767 passenger jets into refuelling tankers for the Indian Air Force (IAF). IAI emerged as the sole qualifying bidder after rival proposals were disqualified. The company will purchase the aircraft and commit to at least 30% of the conversion work being done in India under the 'Make-in-India' initiative. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is expected to be the Indian partner for this project, with deliveries anticipated between 2028 and 2030.
