Paper Ballots Used For MLC Polls Amid EVM Debate

The Hindu · india

Elections for 28 Members of Legislative Council (MLC) seats were recently held, with the BJP winning 13 and its allies securing three more. The Congress managed to win only one seat in Maharashtra. Notably, polling for MLC seats exclusively uses paper ballots, a method the Congress has advocated for in national elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi publicly mocked the Congress's performance, directly referencing their ongoing criticism of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and their persistent demand to revert to paper ballots.
