FASTag Users Face 8-Minute Waits At Jaipur Toll Plaza

Motorists using FASTag are experiencing wait times of five to eight minutes at the Thikariya toll plaza on Jaipur's Ajmer Road during peak hours. Daily traffic has tripled to approximately 48,000 vehicles since operations began, significantly exceeding the plaza's capacity. Despite plans for expansion pending for eight years and a change in the toll collection agency in 2023, the proposed upgrades have not yet commenced. An NHAI official stated that traffic data analysis will determine if lane expansion is necessary.

जयपुर के अजमेर रोड पर थिकरिया टोल प्लाजा पर पीक आवर्स के दौरान FASTag का इस्तेमाल करने वाले यात्रियों को पाँच से आठ मिनट तक का इंतज़ार करना पड़ रहा है। संचालन शुरू होने के बाद से दैनिक यातायात लगभग 48,000 वाहनों तक तीन गुना बढ़ गया है, जो प्लाजा की क्षमता से काफी ज़्यादा है। आठ साल से विस्तार की योजनाएँ लंबित होने और 2023 में टोल कलेक्शन एजेंसी बदलने के बावजूद, प्रस्तावित सुधार अभी तक शुरू नहीं हुए हैं। एक NHAI अधिकारी ने कहा कि लेन विस्तार की आवश्यकता है या नहीं, यह यातायात डेटा विश्लेषण से तय होगा।
