India to Mandate 1% SAF Blending for International Flights from January 2027
The Hindu · india
India is set to mandate a 1% blending of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in conventional jet fuel for international flights starting January 2027. This aligns with the mandatory phase of the CORSIA. Industry sources indicate plans for 2% blending in 2028 and 5% by 2030. However, concerns are rising due to the absence of a finalized national SAF policy and clear regulatory frameworks for carbon credits, despite the approaching deadline.
