Election Commission Removes Additional Declaration Form for New Voters During SIR

The Election Commission of India has clarified that the additional declaration form used during the SIR process has been removed. This form, which required applicants to provide details from previous SIR voter lists, is no longer necessary where SIR is complete or yet to begin. The standard Form-6 for new voter registration remains unchanged. This move simplifies the process for new voters, especially young individuals who may not have access to old electoral records.

भारत के चुनाव आयोग ने साफ किया है कि SIR प्रक्रिया के दौरान इस्तेमाल होने वाला अतिरिक्त घोषणा पत्र हटा दिया गया है। यह फॉर्म, जिसमें आवेदकों को पिछली SIR मतदाता सूची से विवरण देना होता था, अब वहां जरूरी नहीं है जहां SIR पूरा हो गया है या अभी शुरू होना है। नए मतदाता पंजीकरण के लिए मानक फॉर्म-6 अपरिवर्तित रहेगा। इस कदम से नए मतदाताओं, खासकर युवा व्यक्तियों के लिए प्रक्रिया सरल हो जाएगी, जिन्हें पुराने चुनावी रिकॉर्ड तक पहुंच नहीं हो सकती है।
