Indore police have intensified inspections at firecracker shops and markets to prevent the sale and storage of prohibited carbide guns and other illegal explosives. This action follows Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's announcement of a strict crackdown during Diwali, prompted by hundreds of eye injuries reported last year. Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh has directed officers to take strict legal action against anyone found selling, storing, or using these dangerous materials. Licensed dealers confirm they do not stock carbide guns, but unauthorized vendors may sell them during the festive season.
