India is projected to remain the world's fastest-growing major steel market, with demand expected to increase by 7.9% to 172.4 million tonnes in 2026, according to the World Steel Association. Demand is further anticipated to rise by 8% in 2027, reaching 186.2 million tonnes. This growth is driven by infrastructure development, robust private real estate, healthy manufacturing, and renewable energy projects. In contrast, global steel demand is forecast to remain stable in 2026, with China's demand expected to decline.
