Holden Bierman, a 19-year-old from North Carolina, launched a sustainable beachwear brand called Coastal Cool at age 12 with a $500 loan. Initially selling T-shirts, he shifted to swimwear made from recycled plastic bottles. The business, which officially started on his 13th birthday, has now become a six-figure enterprise. Coastal Cool partners with a nonprofit to fund the removal of ocean-bound plastic, reporting that its efforts have helped remove the equivalent of over 100,000 plastic bottles.
