South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) has lost a court battle to include 181 candidates in upcoming local elections. The Electoral Court dismissed the party's appeal against the Electoral Commission of South Africa's decision. This ruling puts the ANC at risk of losing control in two areas where it has historically held strong support. The party has stated its intention to appeal this decision further.
