SC Warns Punjab Over Himachal Pradesh Dues

The Supreme Court has sternly warned Punjab against defying a 15-year-old ruling concerning dues owed to Himachal Pradesh. Attorney General Venkataramani suggested a cashless settlement for power dues, which Himachal and Haryana accepted. Punjab, however, raised objections. The apex court cautioned Punjab of potential repercussions if it fails to comply with the directive. A final decision on this long-standing dispute is anticipated on August 12.
