TVK has won two crucial bypolls held on October 6, marking its first electoral test since forming the government. The party secured both the Madurantakam and Dharapuram seats, increasing its Assembly strength to 109. However, the victory margins were less impressive than anticipated, with the DMK moving to second place and the AIADMK slipping to third. The results raise questions about TVK's ability to convert alliance support into significant vote gains.
