The disruption stranded thousands of commuters, including office-goers, workers, and schoolchildren, during the morning rush hour. During the congestion in Vasai, a 26-year-old woman, Dhanashree Sonawane, died after her scooter was hit by a container truck. She was attempting to navigate the traffic when the accident occurred, resulting in fatal head injuries.
