रिया अहिर ने एनडीटीवी से 22 जुलाई के उस वायरल पल के बारे में बात की जब उन्होंने एक पुलिस वैन को रोका था। वैन में प्रदर्शन के दौरान पकड़े गए छात्र थे। प्रदर्शनकारी शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के इस्तीफे की मांग कर रहे थे। उनकी मांगें परीक्षाओं में कथित अनियमितताओं से जुड़ी थीं। अहिर ने बताया कि वह इस अनुभव और बाद में मिली तवज्जो से अभिभूत थीं।
