LDF Demands Rollback of Airport Parking Fee Hike

The LDF opposition in Thiruvananthapuram has demanded an immediate withdrawal of the steep hike in airport parking and entry fees. They allege the airport operator is exploiting passengers with excessive charges, significantly increasing the financial burden on families. Revised rates now allow only eight minutes of free parking, with charges escalating rapidly thereafter. The LDF also criticized user development fees levied on passengers, calling for affordable airport access and reduced fees. They argue the airport, developed with public resources, should not allow excessive charges after privatization.

तिरुवनंतपुरम में LDF विपक्ष ने एयरपोर्ट पार्किंग और एंट्री फीस में भारी वृद्धि को तुरंत वापस लेने की मांग की है। उनका आरोप है कि एयरपोर्ट ऑपरेटर अत्यधिक शुल्क लगाकर यात्रियों का शोषण कर रहा है, जिससे परिवारों पर वित्तीय बोझ काफी बढ़ गया है। संशोधित दरों के अनुसार, अब केवल आठ मिनट तक मुफ्त पार्किंग की अनुमति है, जिसके बाद शुल्क तेजी से बढ़ेगा। LDF ने यात्रियों से वसूले जा रहे यूजर डेवलपमेंट फीस की भी आलोचना की और किफायती एयरपोर्ट एक्सेस और कम शुल्क की मांग की। उनका तर्क है कि सार्वजनिक संसाधनों से विकसित एयरपोर्ट को निजीकरण के बाद अत्यधिक शुल्क वसूलने की अनुमति नहीं दी जानी चाहिए।
