Venus Once Tropical Paradise, Mercury Was Not

Billions of years ago, when the solar system was forming, Venus was likely a tropical paradise with oceans and clouds. In contrast, Mercury, the planet closest to the Sun, had a very different early environment. This suggests a significant divergence in planetary evolution, with Venus developing extreme heat over time while Mercury's conditions were also distinct from its current state.
