Himachal IPS Officer Booked For Alleged Misappropriation of Police Funds

Himachal Pradesh Deputy Inspector General of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi has been booked on charges of cheating and financial irregularities. A police constable alleged that Gandhi, then Superintendent of Police Shimla, denied him reimbursement of ₹1.87 lakh spent on official arrangements. Preliminary examination of financial records revealed that ₹2.35 lakh was illegally withdrawn from a district police fund over two years. Gandhi has denied the allegations, calling them false and stating the action is linked to his demand for an audit of the road safety fund.

हिमाचल प्रदेश के पुलिस उप महानिरीक्षक (DIG) संजीव कुमार गांधी पर धोखाधड़ी और वित्तीय अनियमितताओं के आरोप में मामला दर्ज किया गया है। एक पुलिस कांस्टेबल ने आरोप लगाया है कि गांधी, जो उस समय शिमला के पुलिस अधीक्षक थे, ने उसे आधिकारिक व्यवस्थाओं पर खर्च किए गए ₹1.87 लाख के पुनर्भुगतान से वंचित कर दिया। वित्तीय रिकॉर्ड की प्रारंभिक जांच में पता चला कि दो वर्षों में जिला पुलिस फंड से ₹2.35 लाख अवैध रूप से निकाले गए थे। गांधी ने आरोपों से इनकार किया है, उन्हें झूठा बताया है और कहा है कि यह कार्रवाई सड़क सुरक्षा फंड के ऑडिट की उनकी मांग से जुड़ी है।
