Mallikarjun Kharge Questions Election Commissioner's Security

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has accused the central government of weakening the Election Commission to facilitate 'vote theft'. He announced that he and Rahul Gandhi will meet the Chief Justice of India to apprise him of the current state of democracy. Kharge alleged that fellow election commissioners' voices are being suppressed, rendering the constitutional body unable to make independent decisions. He questioned why an Election Commissioner was granted unprecedented security, exceeding that provided to the President or CJI, under a 2023 law.

कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे ने 'वोट चोरी' को आसान बनाने के लिए केंद्र सरकार पर चुनाव आयोग को कमजोर करने का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने घोषणा की कि वह और राहुल गांधी भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश से मिलकर उन्हें लोकतंत्र की वर्तमान स्थिति से अवगत कराएंगे। खरगे ने आरोप लगाया कि साथी चुनाव आयुक्तों की आवाज़ दबाई जा रही है, जिससे संवैधानिक निकाय स्वतंत्र निर्णय लेने में असमर्थ हो गया है। उन्होंने सवाल उठाया कि 2023 के एक कानून के तहत एक चुनाव आयुक्त को राष्ट्रपति या सीजेआई से भी ज़्यादा अभूतपूर्व सुरक्षा क्यों दी गई है।
