India's Post-Pandemic Economic Boom Defies Global Uncertainties

Times of India - Business · business

India's economy is projected to grow by over 7% for the fifth consecutive year, making it the world's fastest-growing major economy. This resilience persists despite numerous global uncertainties. Kyunghoon Kim of KIEP noted India's average annual growth between 2021 and 2025 is 7.83%, the second-highest five-year average since 1960. The economy contracted by 5.8% in 2020 but rebounded strongly, with GDP nearly quadrupling from $1 trillion in 2007 to $4 trillion now. This sustained growth signifies a much larger economic expansion on a different scale.
