Jaipur Bus Operators Threaten Strike Over Alleged Double Taxation

Private bus operators in Jaipur have issued a three-day ultimatum to the transport department, demanding an explanation for alleged double taxation on 24-hour special permits. The operators claim they have been overcharged for two months, paying for two days instead of one. They are seeking a refund or adjustment of the excess amount collected. The association plans to protest after Diwali if the issue is not resolved, and also flagged high costs for vehicle tracking devices.

जयपुर के निजी बस ऑपरेटरों ने परिवहन विभाग को तीन दिन की मोहलत दी है, जिसमें 24 घंटे के विशेष परमिट पर कथित दोहरे कराधान के लिए स्पष्टीकरण मांगा गया है। ऑपरेटरों का दावा है कि उनसे दो महीने से अधिक शुल्क लिया गया है, एक दिन के बजाय दो दिन का भुगतान किया गया है। वे एकत्र की गई अतिरिक्त राशि की वापसी या समायोजन की मांग कर रहे हैं। यदि समस्या का समाधान नहीं हुआ तो संघ दिवाली के बाद विरोध प्रदर्शन करने की योजना बना रहा है, और वाहन ट्रैकिंग उपकरणों की उच्च लागत को भी उजागर किया है।
