Actor Naseeruddin Shah recently joined a protest by the CJP in Mumbai, where he was seen embracing CJP founder Abhijit Dipke. Following this, actor Piyush Mishra sarcastically urged Shah to also comment on pilot Smith Machhar, who saved 180 lives on a flight, and address the unrest at Lovely Professional University and protests in Jharkhand. Mishra criticized Shah's past statements, suggesting he should offer condolences for the LPU incident where police allegedly assaulted students and that practical aid, not poetry, is needed in regions like Jharkhand.
