The US Air Force is experimenting with Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA), remotely piloted drones designed to support manned fighters. These unmanned aircraft enhance situational awareness, reduce risk to crewed platforms, and can operate in contested airspace. The first two CCAs, General Atomics' YFQ-42A and Anduril's YFQ-44A, have arrived at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada. This initiative aims to integrate semi-autonomous fighters into combat operations, marking a significant shift in aerial warfare strategy.
