Uruguay's national football team has arrived in Kolkata for a friendly match against India, scheduled for October 6. The team, ranked 20th globally and winners of the 1930 and 1950 World Cups, recently secured a 4-1 victory against South Korea. Brazil, another multiple World Cup winner, is also expected to arrive on Thursday. This marks Uruguay's first visit to Kolkata since winning the 1982 Nehru Cup. Coach Diego Forlan will lead the squad, though key players like Federico Valverde and Luis Suarez are absent due to injuries and rebuilding efforts.
