Krishna Water Supply to Chennai to Stop Soon

Chennai's Krishna water supply from Andhra Pradesh's Kandaleru reservoir will cease within two to three days due to critically low storage levels. Currently, only 40 cusecs are being released, a significant drop from previous supplies. While Chennai's reservoirs hold enough water for five months, and the Krishna water received so far for three more, a deficient monsoon could cause shortages by summer 2027. Officials hope rainfall will replenish the reservoir and allow supply to resume.

चेन्नई को आंध्र प्रदेश के कंदलेरू जलाशय से मिलने वाला कृष्णा का पानी दो-तीन दिन में बंद हो जाएगा। पानी का स्तर बहुत कम हो गया है। अभी सिर्फ 40 क्यूसेक पानी छोड़ा जा रहा है, जो पहले से काफी कम है। चेन्नई के अपने जलाशयों में पांच महीने का पानी है, और अब तक मिले कृष्णा के पानी से तीन महीने और चल जाएगा। लेकिन, अगर बारिश कम हुई तो 2027 की गर्मियों तक पानी की किल्लत हो सकती है।
