Operators demand the scheme's extension to private buses with government reimbursement, along with fare revisions for students and due to diesel price hikes. They also seek government assistance with insurance costs and tax burdens.

केरल में प्राइवेट बस ऑपरेटर 3 नवंबर से पूरे राज्य में अनिश्चितकालीन हड़ताल शुरू करेंगे। वे इस क्षेत्र में चल रहे संकट का विरोध कर रहे हैं। पांच बस ऑपरेटर संघों का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली संयुक्त समारा समिति ने महिलाओं के लिए प्रियदर्शनी फ्री ट्रैवल स्कीम के प्रभाव पर चर्चा के बाद हड़ताल की घोषणा की। ऑपरेटर चाहते हैं कि यह स्कीम प्राइवेट बसों में भी लागू हो और सरकार इसका भुगतान करे। साथ ही, छात्रों के किराए में संशोधन और डीजल की कीमतों में बढ़ोतरी के कारण किराए में बदलाव की भी मांग की गई है। वे बीमा लागत और टैक्स के बोझ में सरकारी मदद भी चाहते हैं।
