Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez have committed $100 million through the Bezos Earth Fund to safeguard endangered animals and plants. This significant donation supports a new global initiative aimed at preventing species extinction. The funding is part of a broader $500 million Species Recovery Alliance, a coalition of conservation organizations. The alliance will coordinate efforts to accelerate species recovery, addressing the critical need for sustained financial support in conservation work. Over 49,500 species are currently listed as threatened with extinction.
