Cuttack Durga Immersion Sees Grand, Eco-Friendly Procession

Cuttack witnessed the grand immersion of Goddess Durga on Thursday, concluding week-long festivities. All 176 puja mandaps participated in the procession, featuring decorated tableaux and traditional music. This year, 37 committees showcased silver tableaux, with Sahebzada Bazaar joining the group. The ceremony was largely DJ- and booze-free, as decided by the puja committees and the Cuttack Durga Puja Shanti Committee. To minimise river pollution, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation created three artificial ponds at Devigada Ghat. Enhanced security measures included 130 platoons of police and over 400 CCTV cameras.

गुरुवार को कटक में देवी दुर्गा का भव्य विसर्जन हुआ, जिससे सप्ताह भर चलने वाले उत्सवों का समापन हुआ। सभी 176 पूजा पंडालों ने सजे-धजे झांकियों और पारंपरिक संगीत के साथ जुलूस में भाग लिया। इस साल 37 समितियों ने चांदी की झांकियां प्रदर्शित कीं, जिनमें साहेबजादा बाजार भी शामिल था। पूजा समितियों और कटक दुर्गा पूजा शांति समिति के निर्णय के अनुसार, यह समारोह काफी हद तक डीजे-मुक्त और शराब-मुक्त था। नदी प्रदूषण को कम करने के लिए, कटक नगर निगम ने देवगडा घाट पर तीन कृत्रिम तालाब बनाए। सुरक्षा के कड़े इंतजामों में 130 प्लाटून पुलिस बल और 400 से अधिक सीसीटीवी कैमरे शामिल थे।
