Elon Musk's X platform has introduced X Numbers, a new optional feature allowing users to share a secret eight-digit code. This code enables others to contact them via XChat without needing personal phone numbers or requiring mutual follows. This move mirrors Meta's WhatsApp, which recently launched a username feature for contact discovery. X Numbers can be used for audio and video calls, with messages sent via the code bypassing the message requests.
