Meenakshi Shinde Resigns as Shiv Sena Thane Chief Amid Murder Allegations

Former Thane mayor Meenakshi Shinde has resigned as Shiv Sena’s district women’s wing chief following allegations of involvement in the murder of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Pradeep Purnekar. Purnekar’s family has demanded the arrest of Meenakshi Shinde and her husband. In her resignation letter, she expressed distress over the allegations and stated she did not want to become a cause for the defamation of party leader Eknath Shinde.

पूर्व ठाणे महापौर मीनाक्षी शिंदे ने शिवसेना (यूबीटी) नेता प्रदीप पूर्णेकर की हत्या में कथित संलिप्तता के आरोपों के बाद शिवसेना की जिला महिला विंग प्रमुख के पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। पूर्णेकर के परिवार ने मीनाक्षी शिंदे और उनके पति की गिरफ्तारी की मांग की है। अपने इस्तीफे पत्र में, उन्होंने आरोपों से उपजी परेशानी व्यक्त की और कहा कि वह पार्टी नेता एकनाथ शिंदे की बदनामी का कारण नहीं बनना चाहतीं।
