Her initiative, Rain Barrels for Runoff, has successfully retained over 100,000 gallons of stormwater in Central Texas. This project not only captures rainwater before it pollutes local waterways and the Edwards Aquifer but also involves youth artists to decorate the barrels, raising funds for environmental programs. Tran's efforts also extended to advocating against a quarry development, using her research to influence city council decisions and protect groundwater sources.
