Rajasthan High Court Orders State to Decide on Advocates Protection Bill in Four Weeks

The Rajasthan High Court has directed the state government to make a final decision on the Advocates Protection Bill within four weeks. A division bench issued this order while hearing a PIL concerning the government's delay in deciding on the bill, which has been pending since May 2025. The Union Home Ministry had previously advised the state to reconsider or withdraw the bill, citing concerns about creating separate laws for different professions.

राजस्थान हाई कोर्ट ने राज्य सरकार को चार हफ़्ते के अंदर वकीलों के संरक्षण विधेयक पर अंतिम निर्णय लेने का निर्देश दिया है। एक डिवीज़न बेंच ने यह आदेश सरकार द्वारा विधेयक पर निर्णय लेने में हो रही देरी से संबंधित एक जनहित याचिका (PIL) की सुनवाई के दौरान दिया, जो मई 2025 से लंबित है। इससे पहले, केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने राज्य को विधेयक पर पुनर्विचार करने या उसे वापस लेने की सलाह दी थी, क्योंकि अलग-अलग व्यवसायों के लिए अलग कानून बनाने पर चिंता जताई गई थी।
