भारत के एक्सेसशन डे (26 अक्टूबर) से पहले, ब्रिटिश सांसदों के एक समूह ने जम्मू और कश्मीर पर भारत की संप्रभुता की पुष्टि करने वाला एक प्रस्ताव पेश किया है। कंजर्वेटिव सांसद बॉब ब्लैकमेन द्वारा प्रायोजित इस प्रस्ताव में कश्मीर पंडितों की लक्षित हत्याओं सहित क्षेत्र में आतंकवाद के बारे में चिंताएं भी व्यक्त की गई हैं। इसमें संप्रभु सीमाओं का सम्मान करने का आह्वान किया गया है और नागरिकों तथा सुरक्षा कर्मियों द्वारा सामना किए जाने वाले खतरों को स्वीकार किया गया है। प्रस्ताव में भारत-यूके के मजबूत संबंधों के महत्व और जम्मू और कश्मीरी विरासत वाले ब्रिटिश समुदायों के योगदान पर भी प्रकाश डाला गया है।
