Mohali Residents Embrace 'Buy Your Own Ravan' Trend This Dussehra

Times of India · lifestyle

A new trend of "Buy Your Own Ravan" has emerged in Mohali, allowing residents to purchase customizable effigies and select their own fireworks for Dussehra celebrations. Ranging from four to ten feet tall and priced between ₹500 and ₹3,500, these effigies sold out rapidly, particularly the more affordable models. This shift transforms public spectacles into personal family events, enabling children to set ablaze their own Ravan figures. The concept, introduced from Saharanpur, offers a novel way for families to engage in the festival's traditions with a personalized touch.
