Delhi Liquor Shops Shut Amid CEC Protest; 20,000 Cops Deployed

Delhi government has ordered the closure of all liquor shops on October 9 and 10 as a preventive measure ahead of a protest called by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner. Over 20,000 police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed across the city. Hotels, clubs, and restaurants with licenses to serve liquor will remain open. The Delhi Traffic Police has regretted the inconvenience caused to commuters due to protest-related restrictions and congestion.

दिल्ली सरकार ने कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) द्वारा मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर बुलाए गए विरोध प्रदर्शन से पहले एहतियात के तौर पर 9 और 10 अक्टूबर को सभी शराब की दुकानें बंद करने का आदेश दिया है। पूरे शहर में 20,000 से अधिक पुलिस और अर्धसैनिक बलों के जवानों को तैनात किया गया है। शराब परोसने का लाइसेंस रखने वाले होटल, क्लब और रेस्तरां खुले रहेंगे। दिल्ली यातायात पुलिस ने विरोध से संबंधित प्रतिबंधों और भीड़भाड़ के कारण यात्रियों को होने वाली असुविधा के लिए खेद व्यक्त किया है।
