Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) functionary Karthika, an unsuccessful candidate in the Dharapuram by-election, and 11 other party members have been remanded in judicial custody. They were arrested on charges of violating the election code of conduct. The violations included erecting unauthorized flex banners and protesting in front of the Dharapuram Police Station, causing road blockades. They also attempted to campaign along the Chief Minister's roadshow route. Police stated that Karthika and the others obstructed officers from performing their duties.
