शिरोमणि अकाली दल (SAD) के नेता बिक्रम सिंह मजीठिया ने पंजाब की AAP सरकार पर ड्रग केस के एक आरोपी को बचाने का आरोप लगाया है। मजीठिया का दावा है कि लवप्रीत सिंह को पंजाब पुलिस द्वारा तय छह महीने के भीतर चालान पेश करने में विफल रहने के कारण डिफ़ॉल्ट जमानत मिल गई, जबकि हेरोइन की बड़ी बरामदगी हुई थी। उन्होंने बरामदगी की राशि कम करने के लिए पुलिस पर दबाव डालने और राजनीतिक लाभ के लिए मामलों को कमजोर करने के इरादे से जानबूझकर आरोप दाखिल करने में देरी करने का आरोप लगाया है।
