A 40-year-old trader was arrested in Berhampur, Odisha, for allegedly operating an adulterated spice processing unit. Authorities seized large quantities of suspected adulterated turmeric, chilli powder, ginger, and garlic pastes, along with prohibited chemical food colours and processing machinery. The accused, identified as E. Koteswar Patra, is a repeat offender with previous cases related to cheating and food safety violations. Police have sent samples for chemical examination to determine the extent of adulteration and potential health risks to consumers.
