Muslims Disproportionately Flagged in Delhi Electoral Rolls

The Hindu · india

An analysis of Delhi's draft electoral rolls reveals that Muslims are disproportionately flagged for "logical discrepancies" by the Election Commission of India's software. While Muslims constitute 13.6% of electors, they represent 20.3% of those flagged for such discrepancies. This indicates Muslims are 60% more likely to be marked than non-Muslims. The flagging is done by the ERONET software, not Electoral Registration Officers. This pattern was not observed in Bihar's draft rolls.
