Anduril Unveils Steelfin Missile System Cheaper Than Patriot

US defence firm Anduril Industries has introduced Steelfin, a new surface-to-air interceptor missile family designed to counter drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. The company aims for Steelfin to be approximately one-third the cost of the Patriot PAC-3 MSE. Its modular design allows for various configurations and integration with existing launch systems. Anduril plans to begin flight testing in 2027, targeting full-rate production by late 2028 or early 2029. This development addresses the growing concern over the high cost of interceptors used against increasingly prevalent aerial threats.
