Puducherry CM Seeks ₹50 Crore Interim Aid For Cyclone Arnab Relief

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy has requested the Union government to sanction an immediate interim aid of ₹50 crore for relief and rehabilitation work in Yanam. The region was devastated by the very severe cyclonic storm Arnab, which caused extensive damage. Rangasamy also urged the Union government to depute an inter-ministerial central team to assess the damages on the ground. The storm, with winds up to 125 km/h, caused 100% loss of paddy crops and significant damage to houses and infrastructure. Proactive warnings and evacuations averted loss of human life.

पुडुचेरी के मुख्यमंत्री एन. रंगसामी ने केंद्र सरकार से यानम में राहत और पुनर्वास कार्यों के लिए तत्काल ₹50 करोड़ की अंतरिम सहायता मंजूर करने का अनुरोध किया है। यह क्षेत्र बहुत गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान अर्नाब से तबाह हो गया था, जिससे व्यापक नुकसान हुआ। रंगसामी ने केंद्र सरकार से नुकसान का आकलन करने के लिए एक अंतर-मंत्रालयी केंद्रीय टीम भेजने का भी आग्रह किया। 125 किमी/घंटा तक की हवाओं वाले इस तूफान से धान की फसलों का 100% नुकसान हुआ और घरों व बुनियादी ढांचे को काफी नुकसान पहुंचा। सक्रिय चेतावनियों और निकासी ने मानव जीवन के नुकसान को टाला।
