Goa Illegal Mining Probe Quashed By Bombay High Court

The Bombay High Court at Goa has quashed a June 2014 Enforcement Directorate case related to large-scale violations in iron ore mining. This probe was based on the 2012 Justice MB Shah Commission’s findings. Mining operations in Goa were suspended in 2012 following the commission's report and only resumed in December 2022 after auctions. The illegal mining probe, investigated by Goa Police SIT and ED for money laundering, ultimately went nowhere due to lack of evidence and endless delays.

गोवा अवैध खनन जांच बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट ने रद्द की

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट की गोवा बेंच ने लौह अयस्क खनन में बड़े पैमाने पर उल्लंघन से जुड़े जून 2014 के प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) के मामले को रद्द कर दिया है। यह जांच 2012 में जस्टिस एमबी शाह आयोग की रिपोर्ट पर आधारित थी। आयोग की रिपोर्ट के बाद 2012 में गोवा में खनन कार्य निलंबित कर दिया गया था और दिसंबर 2022 में नीलामी के बाद ही फिर से शुरू हुआ। गोवा पुलिस की एसआईटी और ईडी द्वारा मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग के लिए जांच की गई अवैध खनन की जांच अंततः सबूतों की कमी और अंतहीन देरी के कारण कहीं नहीं पहुंची।
