New CAFE-3 Rules, To Boost Fuel Efficiency

India is set to implement new Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE-3) regulations for passenger vehicles, which will remain in effect. These rules aim to reduce vehicular pollution and encourage manufacturers to produce more fuel-efficient vehicles. A significant aspect of CAFE-3 is that battery electric cars will be counted as three vehicles in a company's fleet, making EVs instrumental in meeting compliance. Hybrid and flex-fuel vehicles will also benefit under these new norms.

भारत यात्री वाहनों के लिए नए कॉर्पोरेट एवरेज फ्यूल इकोनॉमी (CAFE-3) नियम लागू करने के लिए तैयार है, जो प्रभावी रहेंगे। इन नियमों का उद्देश्य वाहनों से होने वाले प्रदूषण को कम करना और निर्माताओं को अधिक ईंधन-कुशल वाहन बनाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करना है। CAFE-3 का एक महत्वपूर्ण पहलू यह है कि बैटरी इलेक्ट्रिक कारों को कंपनी के बेड़े में तीन वाहनों के रूप में गिना जाएगा, जिससे अनुपालन पूरा करने में EVs महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएंगी। हाइब्रिड और फ्लेक्स-फ्यूल वाहनों को भी इन नए मानदंडों के तहत लाभ मिलेगा।
