India To Make Toll Booths Barrier-Free By March

India is set to implement barrier-free tolling technology on national highways, aiming to eliminate physical toll plazas. MLFF system will allow vehicles to pass at normal highway speeds while tolls are automatically deducted via ANPR. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that over 70% of toll booths will feature MLFF by December end, with a target of complete barrier-free tolling by March 2027.
