AI Race Needs Talent Decisions, Not Shortages, Says Boston Consulting Group Report

The Hindu - Business · business

Technology services firms face a talent decision rather than a shortage in the burgeoning AI race, according to a Boston Consulting Group (BCG) report. AI-led services are projected to add $100-200 billion in net new work by 2030, with much of this deliverable by existing employees. BCG identified 40 Applied AI roles linked to current technology positions, suggesting internal upskilling is feasible and cost-effective. Building talent internally can save firms up to 35% compared to hiring externally for new AI titles.
