Alphabet's stock experienced a significant 5% rally, driven by expectations of stricter data centre regulations that could benefit established companies like Google's parent. The company plans substantial capital expenditure, between $195 billion and $205 billion in 2026, to expand AI and cloud infrastructure. To fund these investments, Alphabet has raised €15 billion through euro bond offerings this year. Despite strong growth in its Google Cloud business, with revenue doubling year-on-year to $30.7 billion, concerns persist regarding negative free cash flow and the financial burden of its expansion.
