Farmers' group rejects Rabi MSP, demands revision citing low profits

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), representing around 500 farmer groups, has rejected the government's announced Minimum Support Price (MSP) for upcoming rabi crops, calling it an insult. The SKM stated that the marginal increase in wheat MSP is insufficient and does not reflect the actual cost of production. They argue the government's calculation excludes crucial costs like family labour and land rent, contradicting the Swaminathan Commission's recommendation for MSP to be C2+50%.
